Wow. The ceremonies at the 9/11 Memorial today were so touching - even just watching the videos online. I can't begin to imagine what it would have been like to be there. It really does put things in perspective. I thought Paul Simon's tribute was amazingly appropriate. He could have written it recently rather than 30+ years ago.

Just like most people, I have an incredibly vivid memory of that day. My daughter called me to tell me what she'd just seen on TV, as I was walking out the door to go to work. I was soon in the midst of 20 shell-shocked 2nd and 3rd graders that were looking to me, their teacher, for answers.

Looking back, the changes that have occurred in our country since that day are unbelievable. Tomorrow, I'll think of alpacas and knitting, master's degrees and work.
